AJ Salicco

AJ was born on February 28, 2016, and though our hearts broke when he left us on April 10, 2026, the love he gave us will never fade. We rescued AJ in 2017, but the truth is, we loved him long before he officially became ours. From the very beginning, he was something special—the best thing to ever happen to our family. As a young pup, he was full of life, full of joy, and full of love for everyone around him, especially children. He wasn’t just a pet—he was our best friend, our constant companion, and a source of comfort we didn’t even know we needed. Every day when we came home from work, AJ would greet us with a toy, so proud and excited, insisting on chewing it right on Dad before turning it into a playful wrestling match with both of us. His happiness was contagious, and no matter what kind of day we had, seeing him made everything better. When our son was born in March 2024, AJ showed us an even deeper kind of love. He was gentle, patient, and protective—enduring all the curious, sometimes rough moments of a baby learning how to be soft, without ever losing his calm spirit. He became not just our companion, but our son’s first and most loyal friend. To Mom, AJ was everything. He was there for every late-night feeding, every quiet moment in the dark, every tear, and every exhausted sigh. No matter the hour, he stayed close—snuggling, comforting, and keeping watch. His soft little noises became a kind of lullaby, a steady presence that brought peace and warmth. The silence he leaves behind now is a reminder of just how much of our world he filled. And when Mom wasn’t nearby, AJ was curled up with Dad—on his lap or tucked into a blanket on the couch, content just to be close. He loved the simple joys of life: car rides, long naps, time with Aunt Jessie and Uncle Colin, and being with his beloved fur sister, Lylah. AJ was truly one of a kind—the best companion any of us could have ever known. The space he leaves in our hearts is immeasurable and permanent, but so is the love he gave us. That love will stay with us, always. We love you more than words could ever express, AJ. If we had just one wish, it would be for you to have lived forever.
